Caxi Technologies ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023, and other applicable Indian laws.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide explicitly when creating an account, requesting services, or contacting support. This includes:

  • Identity Data: Name, phone number, email address, profile picture.
  • Financial Data: Wallet balance and transaction history (we use secure third-party gateways for bank/card processing).
  • Usage Data: Ride history, app interactions, and device information.

2. Location Data & Minimization

Location data is critical for our service. We collect precise GPS data from Drivers when they are online to match them with Riders. For Drivers, we process location data in real-time and overwrite it continuously. We do not store historical tracking paths of Driver movements natively, adhering to strict data minimization principles.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used solely for the purpose of providing the ride-hailing service, including:

  • Facilitating rider-driver matching and navigation.
  • Processing payments and managing digital wallets.
  • Enhancing safety, preventing fraud, and resolving disputes.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We share limited, necessary data to facilitate rides. Riders will see the Driver's name, vehicle details, and current location. Drivers will see the Rider's name, pickup, and drop-off locations. We do not sell your personal data to third-party marketers. Data may be shared with law enforcement agencies only upon receipt of a valid legal request.

5. Your Rights (DPDP Act Compliance)

Under the DPDP Act, you possess the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to Information: You have the right to know what personal data is being processed.
  • Right to Correction & Erasure: You can update your profile via the app. You also have the right to delete your account. Deleting your account will permanently erase your personal data, subject to legal data retention requirements (e.g., financial transaction records).
  • Right to Withdraw Consent: You can withdraw consent for data processing at any time by deleting your account or disabling permissions (like location), though this will limit your ability to use the app.

6. Data Security and Retention

We implement robust encryption (such as AES-256 for data at rest and TLS for data in transit) to protect your information. Personal data is retained only for as long as your account is active or as necessary to fulfill legal obligations, after which it is securely deleted or anonymized.
